 Position Summary As the Distribution Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and maintaining the electric distribution system.&#xa0; This role blends engineering expertise, problem-solving, technology, and collaboration &#8211; giving you the opportunity to contribute directly to the system reliability, performance, and long-term planning.&#xa0; This role reports to the Manager of Engineering and works closely with operations, construction and management to ensure projects are designed with current and future communication capabilities in mind, and are completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. 
 Key Responsibilities 
 
 Design and support distribution system infrastructure to meet current and future load requirements 
 Perform system studies, evaluate real-world and modeled operating conditions, and develop practical engineering solutions 
 Prepare construction work plans, long-range system plans and detailed engineering studies aligned with Cooperative goals and industry standards 
 Provide technical support in the development and maintenance of Energy Management System (EMS), Distribution Management System (DMS), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) 
 Monitor the function of SCADA, including the network, data links, and RTU communications equipment to ensure proper function 
 Work with Callaway Electric&#8217;s generation and transmission cooperative, Central Electric Power Cooperative (CEPC), on development of SCADA to reclosures, regulators, capacitors and switches 
 Support outage analysis and reliability improvements 
   Partner with field operations, engineering, technology and member services teams to enhance grid performance and system resilience 
 
 &#xa0; Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required 
 Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred 
 Three (3) to five (5) years of electric utility engineering experience 
 Proficiency with engineering software such as Milsoft, Windmil, CYME, PLS CAD 
 Knowledge of NISC&#8217;s suite of CIS, OMS, GIS and ACLARA AMI preferred 
 Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, IEEE, NESC, and RUS 
 Knowledge of SCADA fundamentals, Remote Terminal Units, and communication system including fiber and wireless technologies a plus 
 Strong analytical, problem solving, and data driven decision making skills 
 Strong knowledge of power systems and distribution design principles 
 Excellent communication and organizational skills 
 Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects
