 The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track Associate Professor position in the area of cardiovascular engineering to join in August 2026. The successful candidate will join the newly established Center for Innovation in Cardiovascular Health (CICH), a multi-disciplinary center with core resources available to assess cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology and opportunities to apply for seed funding and graduate student support.

 Candidates with expertise in cardiovascular regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Particularly areas of interest include but are not limited to those focused on heart valve development and engineering, cardiac remodeling and regeneration, and/or modeling of vascular pathologies. Candidates with research demonstrating clear clinical translation potential are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate academic potential through a strong publication record and evidence of ability to secure external funding. In addition to research excellence, candidates are expected to contribute to the core undergraduate curriculum and to develop undergraduate and graduate-level courses in regenerative medicine. A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
