Location: Syracuse, NY Pay Range: $62,400 Pay Determination:
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Job Description:
Syracuse University is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with a background and published record in the fields of optics-based 3D printing, cell biology, and tissue engineering. The work, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, will be directed by Prof. Pranav Soman. The Postdoc will work in Soman group located within the BioInspired Institute, which offers world-class facilities and a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment where engineers, biologists, chemists, and material scientists collaborate with clinicians from SUNY Upstate Medical University to address high-impact challenges in the bioscience community.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in bioengineering with demonstrated expertise in optical engineering, laser optics, and photo-polymerization methods.
Job Specific Qualifications:
Proficient in operating ultrafast femtosecond lasers and digital micromirror devices
Expertise in cell culture techniques and microfluidic device handling
Experience with Confocal Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
Responsibilities:
Develop new hardware, instrumentation, and associated materials suitable for advanced 3D printing techniques, particularly two-photon and vat photopolymerization.
Contribute to the conception, design, and execution of research projects.
Pursue independent research interests while collaborating with scientists across diverse disciplines under minimal supervision from the PI.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
Publish in peer-reviewed journals, present findings at conferences, and write proposals.

Ability to work in lab environment, including laser room, cell culture, and chemical hoods.
