What will you be doing in this role:
The BMET I (Biomedical Equipment Technician) performs repair, preventive maintenance and calibration of medical equipment. Troubleshoots basic electronic circuits under close supervision; evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment at the request of clinical staff and department management; completes and records all required maintenance documentation; serves in on-call rotation.
Adjusts, calibrates, lubricates, performs operational verification, tests electrical safety, and other tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety of medical equipment.
Maintains an accurate and complete inventory of medical devices and systems in assigned areas.
Schedules and documents work performed as directed by the department.
Communicates clearly with users in patient care areas during rounds or while investigating reported malfunctions.
Reviews and/or orders parts and materials so as to insure right items are ordered at right time from the most effective source and that prudent stock levels are maintained.
Onsite Monday-Friday, 8-Hour Day Shift
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Six (6) months experience preferred as a biomedical equipment technician and familiarity with a limited but growing range of medical equipment.
Knowledge of wired and wireless networks related to the medical devices.
Demonstrates the ability to understand and use basic biomedical test equipment.
Demonstrates a basic level of electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrates an understanding of the operation and service routines for basic clinical electronic equipment.
Educational/Certification Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Required.
Biomedical Technology Diploma from accredited program required.
Associate?s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Electronics, or related field. (preferred)
