Research Assistant in the Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) - Dr. Kristin Gunsalus
The Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Assistant in the Chemical and Functional Genomics Laboratory to work on a project aiming to find novel biocontrol agents to manage the spread of Red Palm weevils (RPW), a major threat to palm trees. The position will be based at NYU Abu Dhabi and supervised by Professor Kristin Gunsalus. The Research Assistant will (1) screen a library of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) strains for a virulence phenotype against Red Palm Weevil (RPW) larvae using an oral infection method (2) assess the impact of the virulent candidate Bt strains on RPW fitness and biology, such as growth and development, eg
