Nemours is seeking a casual Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, DE.

The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating a wide range of medical equipment. This multi-modality, multi-vendor in-house position requires a high level of technical expertise. The role includes participation in on-call rotation.

Essential Functions

1. Inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate a comprehensive range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments

2. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.

3. Provide advanced technical support for medical equipment used in direct patient care.

4. Routinely interact with clinical health providers to identify and resolve technology-based issues.

5. Address organization-level customer service concerns and complaints.

6. Prepare required documentation and reports.

7. Demonstrate a safety-focused approach to all tasks.

8. Practice fiscal responsibility when purchasing parts and services.

9. Manage and schedule vendor services as needed.

10. Guide clinical staff in the proper operation of medical equipment when necessary.

11. Participate in the on-call rotation for medical equipment support.

12. Accurately document work performed and maintain detailed equipment records.

13. Plan and schedule service and maintenance duties.

14. Support vendors during repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree preferred.

Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is preferred.

Minimum three years of preventive and corrective maintenance on multiple modalities of medical equipment is required.
