The faculty of the Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science (https://chems.usc.edu) in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering (https://viterbischool.usc.edu/) is searching for outstanding faculty candidates in the disciplines of chemical engineering or materials science in the following high-priority category:
Energy storage/batteries research area including but not limited to: electrochemistry, next-generation battery technology, modeling of battery components, advanced manufacturing and battery recycling and re-purposing. This position aligns with our departmental focus in Energy Engineering and is open to experimental and computational applicants at the tenure-track or tenured at all levels.
Additionally, Computational candidates (tenured Associate and full Professor ranks only), have the opportunity to be affiliated with our new USC School of Advanced Computing, with priority given to those whose research aligns with one or more of the following affinity areas: computing and (i) sustainability, (ii) security, (iii) health, and (iv) systems. This opportunity aligns with USCs $1 billion Frontiers of Computing initiative, the largest, most comprehensive academic initiative in the universitys history (http://computing.usc.edu). The initiative has already resulted in the creation of the new USC School of Advanced Computing (http://sac.usc.edu), which aims to advance computing research and expand USCs presence in Silicon Beach, L.A. Countys tech corridor.
Outstanding senior applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership may also be considered for additional distinctions, including theLloydArmstrong, Jr. Endowed Chair, which is supported by USCs Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program endowment, and which requires the WISE Program guidance and concurrence.
We expect all applicants to have a strong commitment to research, doctoral student mentoring, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should have a doctorate in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or a related field of study and must have a well-established and accomplished academic record.

The annual base salary range for the following faculty ranks in this posting are:
Assistant Professor: $114,000 - $135,000
Associate Professor: $135,000 - $162,000
Professor: $ 173,000 - $236,000
