Program ITS and Traffic System equipment under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and maintain records.
Assist with the installation, testing, and implementation of new technology in support of the County ATMS.
Help plan and implement equipment and protocols in preparation for connected and autonomous vehicles (AV/CV). Program and troubleshoot Roadside Units.
Investigate customer concerns/inquiries and meet with citizens to define and resolve issues.
Assist with the installation, inspection, and acceptance of ITS and Traffic equipment.
Represent Transportation at various community meetings regarding traffic issues.
Perform final roadway field inspection for acceptance by public works for maintenance.
Provide technical support to the Signs and Signal shop.
Coordinate and prioritize repair and maintenance of ITS and Traffic Systems.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related engineering field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience or technical engineering-related project experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the degree, if candidates are not available that fully meet the minimum requirements of the position.
Valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced level Signal technology.
IMSA Level I, II and the ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Familiarity with Trafficware signal controller cabinets.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $55,577.60 - $63,502.40
