The City of Moreno Valley is now hiring for two (2) Senior Engineer, P.E. One (1) in Transportation and one (1) in Capital Projects. The jobs include project management, grant writing, planning, coordination with other departments and agencies; and performs related duties as assigned. Professional Engineer license required. The Transportation position’s focus is on Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning related items. The position should understand the fundamentals of traffic and transportation engineering and is willing to learn various aspects including but not limited to traffic control plans, signals, signing, striping, master planning, and design.
The Capital Project position’s focus is delivery of street, flood control, building, park and various improvement projects. The position should understand the fundamentals of street improvement and flood control project delivery, consultant management, construction and grant funding compliance.
IDEAL CANDIDATE The Ideal Candidate for this position has:
Prior project management experience
Understands basics of traffic and transportation engineering and is willing to learn various aspects including but not limited to traffic control plans, signals, signing, striping, master planning, and design
Past experience with grants and grant compliance.
Shows strong leadership qualities
Works well in a team environment
A bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, mechanical or structural engineering or a related engineering discipline. A minimum of six years of progressively responsible civil, electrical, mechanical or structural engineering experience.
A current and valid registration as a Professional Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Structural Engineer with the California State Licensing Board. A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
