The Department of Mechanical, Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in Industrial & Systems Engineering beginning Spring 2023. This is a non-tenure track position; initially it is for one-semester (Spring 2023) with anticipated academic year (9 months) renewals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and intermediate level industrial and systems engineering courses, and to teach and/or coordinate manufacturing engineering laboratory courses. This latter role will involve the training/supervision of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants. The successful candidate will be expected to assist the Department in developing student assessment and course review material for these courses as needed for program review by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Typical courses are expected to be Manufacturing Processing Lab, Engineering Economy, Statistics for Engineers, Ethics for Engineers. The anticipated teaching load is 12 credits per semester.
