Supports the compliance oversight of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Standards for the company, which detail the requirements to be met to adequately plan, operate and protect the bulk electric system. Specific responsibilities include assisting subject matter experts in the development of compliance related procedures, participating in the implementation of new or modified standards, utilization of engineering skills to provide accurate interpretation and guidance on standards and analyzing documentation to ensure full compliance. Leads small to medium projects with minimal guidance. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. Please note, LES is interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, LES is not able to sponsor employment based immigrant or non-immigrant visas. This is not a remote position and requires residency within reasonable commuting distance to LES in Lincoln, Nebraska daily.
Serves as a consultative resource to the subject matter experts across the organization to provide clarification and interpretation on standards and participates on regional and national working groups to ensure LES’ views are given due consideration.
Actively monitors and facilitates the review of standards under development.
Develops comments and voting recommendations that reflect LES’ interests and advocates for the inclusion of LES’ comments into regional and national organization comments.
Develops and manages implementation plans for newly approved/modified standards, works with involved subject matter experts to ensure timely execution of identified milestones.
Reviews all new/modified associated procedures so to ensure full compliance is met prior to the first day of enforcement.
Conducts formal internal investigations to identify potential matters of noncompliance. Reports outcomes, including recommendations to prevent reoccurrence of noncompliance or near miss matters, to senior management.
Assists in onsite and offsite compliance audits including audit preparation to consolidate evidentiary documentation and audit responses, meticulously reviews documentation prior to submittal to auditors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
