The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a world-renowned international research university. The Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China officially approved the establishment of HKUST(GZ) in June 2022. Located in Qingsheng Hub Cluster, Nansha, Guangzhou, HKUST(GZ) will open its door on September 1, 2022. The intended areas of focus in the GZ Campus will be thematic and cross-disciplinary in nature, synergistic with HKUST without overlapping academic degrees or structures. 4 Academic Hubs (equivalent to schools) with 16 Thrust Areas (equivalent to departments) are now in place.

About INTR Thrust, HKUST(GZ)

As one of the primary academic units of HKUST (GZ), INTR (Intelligent Transportation) is an integrative and innovative cross-disciplinary thrust under the Systems Hub. With a scope that covers land, air and maritime transportation, we aim to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of multi-modal transportation systems.

INTR Thrust invites applications or nominations for multiple faculty positions at all ranks (Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor) in Intelligent Transportation (INTR) Thrust. We welcome applicants with research focus in the following areas, including but not limited to:

•Acquisition, Analysis and Applications of Traffic Big Data

•Shared mobility, Mobility as a service (MaaS)

•Analysis, Modelling, and Optimization of Transportation System with Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV)

•Testbed and Traffic Simulation of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV)

•Operations and Management of Urban Rail Transit Systems

•Safety and Security of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

•Green Aviation Technologies

•Automated Port Operations and Shipping Logistics

Qualification of Candidates

Applicants must have a PhD degree in relevant fields. Senior academics should have proven teaching commitment and performance, experience and readiness in cross-disciplinary curriculum and program design, and demonstrated service to the academic community and/or the public. English is the medium of instruction at HKUST (GZ).
