TETER is searching for a Licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Central California team in designing HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building projects including education, industrial, energy, federal, private sector, healthcare, and commercial.
For the right candidate, there is also an Exceptional opportunity to grow into a Business Unit Leader for our entire Mechanical Department in the next 1-2 years.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer leads a team in designing mechanical systems that emphasize user comfort, efficiency, conservation and reliability. Serving as the Engineer-of-Record or Project Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer also oversees the development of all project documents, ensuring adherence with the firm’s standards for quality.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer must have proven leadership skills in project management. He/she will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external consultants, scheduling manpower assignments, managing project financials, and client relationship management. He/she will ensure all drawings are prepared with accuracy, neatness, and speed, including work prepared by others. The ideal candidate is able to estimate time needed to complete assignments and manage his/her time in order to meet project requirements.

To qualify for consideration, the Senior Mechanical Engineer must possess the following qualifications:
- Current registration as a Mechanical Engineer (P.E.) in California or in another state with the ability to become licensed in California within 6 months of hire.
- 10+ years of experience as a Licensed Engineer delivering mechanical design services on building projects in the state of California.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), or equivalent work experience. Master's degree is acceptable but not required.
- Proven time management skills including setting goals, prioritizing, estimating hours and completing tasks on time
- Proficiency in all levels of construction document development.
In order to best serve our clients located throughout Central California and visit project sites regularly, the Senior Mechanical Engineer should reside near one of our five offices in Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo or Modesto. Other locations within California may be considered for experienced candidates.
