NGHS is currently seeking a Sr. Research Engineer at Gainesville.
Job Summary: Seeking a Sr. Research Engineer for the Georgia Center for Cardiovascular Biomechanics & Data Modeling. Ideal Candidate would have a masters or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or other related field. Candidate should have background in computational fluid dynamics, data science and, image processing. Demonstrated quantitative analysis with excellent proficiency with Python, Matlab and/or C++ programming. Successful applicant will lead federally sponsored research using CFD to investigate hemodynamics of patient-specific 3D models of coronary arteries. Should have demonstrated record of independent research, and good organizational and inter-personal skills. Successful applicant will write and submit journal articles reporting findings of research. Previous experience with medical imaging is desirable.
The Georgia Center for Cardiovascular Biomechanics & Data Modeling is a research lab based at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Minimum Qualifications:
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer Certification, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Licensure.
Experience with open source CFD codes such as Simvascular, Open FOAM, or other commercial CFD codes such as StarCCM+, Simerics MP+, ANSYS CFX. Experience performing steady and transient simulations. Finite element analysis (FEA) experience using ANSYS Mechanical, NX Nastran, and/or Abaqus Experience with programming languages, such as C++, Matlab and Python Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
A masters or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or other related field, Strong background in computational fluid dynamics, signal processing, image processing.
