Engineers Without Borders – USA (EWB-USA) and INGO NCBA CLUSA are partnering on a USAID Farmer-to-Farmer grant. The main objective of the program is to generate sustainable and broad-based economic growth in the agricultural sector worldwide. The program is based on a regional strategy for coffee, horticulture and the strengthening of cooperatives and rural enterprises.
Job Description
This assignment is focused on assisting a cooperative in Peru on improving and developing a manufacturing plan for 600kg per hour cacao bean manufacture and 300 kg per hour cacao liquor manufacturing facility prioritization in as follows:
1) Design in collaboration with the cooperative team a startup plan of manufacturing facility
2) Review plan design and equipment selection quotes and provide suggestions to improve them
3) Train cooperative team on criteria to select suppliers for manufacturing facility and successful manufacturing facility operation flux
Additional information
This assignment will require volunteers to travel to the field for 2-3 weeks with all costs covered
- Industrial engineer preferred
- Cacao by-products manufacture facility engineerBasic understanding of plantain frying, and/or coffee or cacao production.
- Willing to travel to a rural area
- Spanish language skills are preferable
