Seeking to hire experienced Distributed Control System (DCS) Process Control Engineers. These engineers will report to the Process Controls & Automation Engineering (PC&AE) Organization and will design and install distributed control systems for various facilities at SRS. These engineers will be responsible for leadership roles for the planning, design, procurement, installation, startup and test, and maintenance of the DCS for HVAC/Ventilation, Steam, Water, Gloveboxes, and various chemical and nuclear process controls.
Duties will include developing software through coding, modifying software for error correction, testing and/or integrating new hardware, improving system performance, and upgrading interfaces to existing PLC systems.
The types of work/skills needed may include:
• Develop, Test and Implement new DCS systems to maintain and support Facility Operations.
• Provide creative solutions to upgrade existing control systems.
• Experience with PLC or SCADA programming.
• Experience working in a structured environment with standardized coding.
• Skills in troubleshooting PLC hardware and software issues on production system.
• Experience working with safety systems.
• Working knowledge of IEEE/ISA standards.
• Good team player.
Analyze technical tasks and develop creative solutions to solve assigned problems using PLCs. Operate in a highly regulated environment to meet technical requirements for special materials and processes. Create optimal solutions for existing applications. Collaborate with operations to develop functional requirements for the SCADA. Prepare documentation to support the DCS applications.
Provide leadership. Recognized as an industry subject matter expert. Mentor and provide guidance for personnel. Collaborate with other engineering and construction disciplines. Provide direction and position responsibility both inside and outside department lines on programs seeking new approaches to problems and new application of existing engineering or scientific principles.
Bachelor degree in applicable science or engineering discipline required.
Experience with distributed control systems required.
Preferred:
Preferred Degrees/Disciplines: Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineer with interest in Electrical, Nuclear Engineering
Advanced knowledge of process instrumentation and network architecture.
