Position Summary: The Biomedical Equipment Technician II is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on generic, complex, and designated clinical equipment, and diagnoses faults and performs corrective action on all clinical equipment located in designated specialized areas such as advanced biomed, telephony, imaging, pneumatics, and computer applications. This is an intermediate-level position working under limited supervision. Work situations are a combination of routine and varied functions which require excellent technical skill in the area of bio-medical engineering, problem solving, and decision making. Internal contacts include staff and management through the medical center. External contacts may include vendors and suppliers.
Minimum Requirements:Two years experience in a hospital or clinical settingExtensive training on systems in designated area
Education/Licenses/Certifications:Two years vocational or college training in Biomedical Electronics Technology, or four years recent experience in electronicsCompletion of course or schooling on specific equipment in designated areaCurrent Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
