JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Statistical Analyst for the Center for Precision Medicine ( www.vumc.org/cpm/ ) in the Department of Biomedical Informatics ( https://www.vumc.org/dbmi/ ). Under direct supervision, this person will support genotype and phenotype studies by collaborating with our research team and other personnel across Vanderbilt University Medical Center; extracting data from electronic health records, genetic repositories and other databases; performing longitudinal, high-dimensional data analysis; and creating reproducible biomedical research pipelines in support of multiple research projects. E xperience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and in working with Linux- and cloud-based environments are highly recommended. The person in this role will need to be adaptable and be able to pick up whatever new skills and expertise are needed to complete large/multiple development projects at hand .

Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate as a member of a research team on the design, implementation, and analysis of a research project.
- Investigate, collect and organize data from a variety of reference sources including the electronic health record and biobanks
- Prepare charts, graphs, and tables according to accepted research practices
- Perform preliminary analysis
- Assist in the publication of research projects

**Required Qualifications **
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 2 years relevant experience
** Requirements/Preferences**
- Master's or PhD degree in related field (Preferred)
- Prior related experience such as (Preferred):
- Python and/or R programming language
- Data analysis and statistical modeling
- Relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, etc.
About the Center/Department:
The Center for Precision Medicine (CPM) at Vanderbilt University is a multidisciplinary team consisting of basic research investigators, clinicians, data scientists, application developers and support personnel whose objective is to build a research platform that amasses, extracts and curates meaningful information from patient healthcare records and integrates it with genetic information derived from a DNA repository patterned after BioVU. The CPM develops and applies advanced bioinformatics tools to identify genotype/phenotype associations and genotype/treatment relationships in order to facilitate discovery and signally improve healthcare outcomes through the personalization of diagnostics, treatment and disease prevention.
