JOB SUMMARY:
The Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center (VCLIC), a world-leading group of researchers and practitioners studying how to make EHRs (Electronic Health Records) work better, is seeking project management support for our initiatives, both operational and research-oriented. VCLIC coordinates clinical informatics activities across Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is working to "pave the road" for clinical informatics researchers and practitioners, ensuring that faculty, students, and staff throughout Vanderbilt find it easy to access data, test innovations, and evaluate results. VCLIC also offers lectures, trainings, competitions, and funding opportunities for Vanderbilt informaticians.
Candidates for the Research Project Manager role will have an interest in healthcare and a strong desire to be part of a team and Center that is striving to bring high quality education, service, and research opportunities to the VU and VUMC communities at-large.
Through the VUMC Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) and the Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center (VCLIC), the Research Project Manager will have numerous opportunities for training and career development. DBMI and VCLIC hold regular seminars and journal clubs and offer trainings on research skills and data management, among other topics. Opportunities to observe and shadow healthcare providers and Health IT professionals are also available.
This role will plan, develop, and execute ongoing projects and programs that impact VCLIC members as well as VUMC and VU faculty, staff, trainees, and students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the creation, coordination, and execution of Center projects and research initiatives
- Plans, develops, leads, and executes the projects in order to meet established goals, objectives, and timelines
- Promotes growth and expansion of the projects
- Provides professional and/or technical leadership in the execution of day to day project activities
- Performs a variety of administrative support which may include correspondence, calendar/meeting scheduling and/or mail processing
- Communicates within and across areas to maximize information sharing around progress, needs, interdependencies, and accomplishments
- Maintains files and processes file requests.
- Coordinates ordering of supplies and equipment.
- Provides accurate and timely support via phone, in person, or in writing.
- Facilitates the identification of gaps in service level/processes to identify potential areas for improvement
- The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned, including but not limited to:
- Center mailing list management
- Website updates
- Newsletter assembly
- Proof reading
- Social media management (Twitter)
- Canva use for creation of event announcements
- Event planning and logistics
- Assist with data abstraction from a variety of sources including the electronic health record
- Utilize MS Access and Excel to assist in data collection efforts, database development, and descriptive data analysis.
- Perform general topic searches and specialized literature database searches. Retrieve journal articles. Maintain a bibliographic library of supporting material.
- Help with the preparation of talks and presentation materials including PowerPoint slides, tables, figures and posters.
- Assist with the preparation of formal research reports and manuscripts for publication in journals.
- Assist with preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation and forms for study protocol approvals and amendments.
- Participate as part of the project team

**Required Qualifications **
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 3 years relevant experience
