The City of Austin Transportation Department (ATD) is seeking an experienced and talented engineer to supervise and lead project implementation within the Project Delivery Division. This is an exciting opportunity to support the build out of high-profile, time-critical transportation projects, in service to 2016, 2018 and 2020 Mobility Bonds.
ATD has recently formed a new Project Delivery Division that will be responsible for leading implementation of bond funded projects for several local mobility programs in ATD’s portfolio such as Bikeways, Vision Zero/Safety, Transit, large Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), and Substandard Street projects. . This is an exciting opportunity to be part of this new team to build and grow ATD’s capabilities in project implementation.
The ideal candidate will be a versatile Engineer, Technical Delivery Manager and, lead a team of Program Managers to provide strategic direction in order to successfully deliver high-need, time-critical projects in service to the Department’s multi-modal safety and mobility goals. A strong background in program delivery strategies, including public agency contracting methods is desired.

This position requires graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering, plus eight (8) years of related experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer, including two (2) years of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas is required.
