The City of Anaheim is seeking talented Civil Engineering Interns for the Public Works Department. This year-round internship is an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful Public Works engineering work experience. Candidates must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate (Masters or PhD) level courses in an accredited college or university with major course work in the area of civil engineering, traffic engineering, transportation engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or related degree.Engineering Internship assignments are available in the Construction Services, Engineering Design Services, Subdivision/Development Services, Traffic Engineering/Transportation Planning Services, , and Traffic Management Center.

Construction Services manages contracts for the City’s capital construction projects to ensure compliance with the contract, plans, and specifications. Construction Services also performs surveys and inspection for all City capital improvement projects. The ideal college majors include Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
Design Services is responsible for the overall planning and development of the City's arterial highways and the master planning and design of all arterial street, storm drain, and sewer improvements plans. The ideal college majors include Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
Subdivisions/Development Services provides development-related services for private sector development and development by other public agencies or public utilities. The ideal college majors include Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning performs professional and technical level engineering work including plan review, development review, contract administration, and field surveys. The ideal college majors include Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Traffic Engineering.
Traffic Management Center operates and maintains traffic signals, signal timing and phasing, changeable message signs, closed-circuit television cameras, traffic fiber optic network and other intelligent traffic system devices for commuter traffic, construction activities and special events.
