Lead Structural Engineer
Merrick & Company is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join a team of engineering and design professionals serving in the Nuclear Services & Technology Business Unit in our growing Aiken, SC office. This position requires an individual who works well with other discipline engineers and architects and who is strong in all aspects of structural design for buildings and equipment. This position will be located in our Merrick Aiken, SC office.
This position will be located in Aiken, SC, a small community located near the Savannah River Site. Aiken is relatively close (less than an hour drive) to both Augusta, GA and Columbia, SC. Aiken is a family-friendly community with an excellent public school system and a low crime rate. Aiken was voted the best small town of the south in 2018 by Southern Living and remains on the top 10 list. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing custom solutions and mentoring a team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Structural Engineer will independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge in broad areas of structural engineering and related fields. The Senior Structural Engineer will work on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features, receiving supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
