Work will encompass all phases of design including conceptual feasibility evaluations, preparation of design reports, development of contract documents, bidding assistance, and support of construction engineering services. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in site development and transportation designs, watershed planning, stormwater and flood control designs, including detention systems, and BMPs. Work on transportation designs will generally be noncomplex roadway design as defined in the latest INDOT Consultant Prequalification Manual. Job Duties/Responsibilities• Oversee and facilitate civil, transportation, and stormwater type projects• Perform detailed engineering analyses and calculations pertaining to civil, transportation, and stormwater designs• Assemble technical reports/exhibits and construction plans/details • Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications • Review shop drawing submittals and assist in performing technical bid analysis • Bidding assistance• Contract administration• Mentor staff and ensure deadlines are met• Support other projects such as potable water wastewater utility design when needed• Offer solutions to complex problem areas
Qualifications/Skills• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Similar Discipline (graduate degree is a plus)• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Indiana (or ability to obtain reciprocity)• Experience with hydrology and hydraulics modeling software such as SWMM, HEC RAS, HEC HMS, TR20, HY8• INDOT & LPA design and permitting experience• Experience with dams and levees will be a plus. • Ability to work independently and in a team• Strong work ethic and organizational skills• Valid drivers license
