The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for design and development of plans. This position will be instrumental in the design, maintenance, and construction of all aspects in the railroad industry, involving both freight and passenger service. This position contributes to the 665 miles of state-owned railroad including design, maintenance, inspection, real estate, trespass, and opportunities to be involved in the innovative asset management program within the department. Alternate Education and Experience
Transportation Engineer 9 - 12Possession of a registered professional engineer license as required by the State of Michigan may be substituted for 6 months of experience at the Transportation Engineer 9-12 levels. This substitution may only be used once for any employee for qualification of appointment or early reclassification.
