This position will be based in our downtown White Plains, NY, office supporting a broad range of regional, state and municipal planning and engineering projects throughout the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. As AKRF’s White Plains, NY office is currently closed due to COVID-19, the position will require remote work until the pandemic is over. Responsibilities will include:
-Provide traffic planning, design, and engineering services -Prepare Plans, Specifications and Estimates for traffic signals-Perform conceptual roadway design for Complete Streets, multimodal safety, and other roadway improvements projects-Prepare or review traffic impact studies on behalf of municipalities and property developers-Manage project deliverables-Write proposals and develop and maintain client relationships -Coordinate internally with planners, engineers, scientists, ad related professionals
-Four or more years of experience in traffic engineering design and operations-Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering-Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one-Proficiency in traffic engineering software such as HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and/or VISSIM -Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation-E.I.T. Certification or Professional Engineer registration New York or ability to obtain such-Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certification-Familiarity with signal design and NYSDOT/CTDOT standards and specifications-Project experience with NYSDOT/CTDOT and local municipalities
