About Us AIChE, founded in 1908, is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. Its members work in corporations, universities, and government, using their knowledge of chemical processes to develop safe and useful products for the benefit of society. Position Summary The AIChE Marketing team is responsible for the discovery, design, development and delivery of AIChE’s marketing initiatives, working closely with cross-functional groups within AIChE. The Senior Marketing Associate is a connector and problem-solver. A team player who focuses on goals and outcomes with other departments to produce creative results and help develop plans and initiatives that consider data, feedback and best practices into account. Responsibilities Under the direction Chief of Technical Operations, Membership and Business Development, the Director, Technical Communities will achieve the following objectives. - Create opportunities and implement strategic initiatives to support the daily operations
- Develop new growth opportunities in Biological Engineering, Regenerative Engineering, Sustainability, Energy, Manufacturing, Food Technologies, and Bioethics and biosecurity
- Responsible for organizing and managing different business units within the department
- Accountable for the effective day-to-day operations and results of different business unit within the department
- Implement various societies’ business models to sustain growth
- Promote and develop new activities in various engineering domains
- Maintain and increase partnerships between industry, academia and government that expand our national and international reach and influence
- Develop, manage and exceed conference budgets for products and services including various conferences
- Write proposals and grants that fund current and new initiatives
- Supervise a team of 4-5 staff members including a manager, and an entry level employee
- Travel is required to attend conferences and meet with key stakeholders (domestic and international based on external conditions)
