Genmab is focused on the creation and development of innovative and differentiated antibody products, with the aim of improving the lives of cancer patients. 

As a Principal Research Associate working in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory, you will be part of an international Pathology team embedded within the Translational Research Group based in Princeton, New Jersey. 

In this role, you will help build a state-of-the-art histology and immunohistochemistry team to support a variety of discovery, pre-clinical and clinical programs.  The ideal candidate will have significant experience in automated immunohistochemistry using Leica Bond and/or Ventana Discovery systems. Additionally, you will have significant experience in antibody validation methods, IHC/IF multiplexing and in situ hybridization.  

 
Responsibilities: 

This is a laboratory-based, hands-on position with growth opportunities.   

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

• Run immunohistochemistry assays for single-plex chromogenic and fluorescence, as well as multiplex IHC and IF using our automated platforms (Leica Bond and Ventana Discovery Ultra).   
• Run in situ hybridization (ISH) assays using RNA Scope and Base scope probes, in single and multiple channels, mainly on the Leica Bond platform.  
• Scan microscopic slides using standard bright field and fluorescence scanners as needed and perform basic image analysis using Halo and basic image processing with InForm in order to develop multiplex IF panels using the Akoya kits.  
• Perform spatially resolved protein and RNA profiling experiments (IHC and ISH based) using the DSP Nanostring GeoMx platform, in collaboration with translational medicine scientists.  
• Help manage a human tissue database and downstream lab processes using a Laboratory Information Management System (LabVantage, LIMS), and a digital image database (Concentriq).  
• Contribute to experimental design, planning and scientific execution of research projects.  
• Improving operational processes in the laboratory, including writing work instructions or standard operating protocols.
