SUMMARY OF POSITIONUnder direction of the Development Engineering Manager, the Civil Engineer II – Development has primary responsibility for managing tasks associated with development review including but not limited to: engineering plan review for residential subdivision and commercial site development; attending Development Review Committee meetings; conducting meetings with consultants, engineers, property owners, and residents; planning public infrastructure systems, including streets, drainage, water, and sewer systems; and project management tasks including cost estimates, easement acquisition, schedule management, and construction observation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; supplemented by five (5) years previous experience required, six (6) years previous experience preferred in municipal and/or land development engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Texas Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) required. Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications may be an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
PHYSICAL DEMANDSTasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
