The Water Resource Recovery Operations and Services Department is currently seeking a Senior Engineer - Mechanical. This position manages the mechanical capital expansion and replacement program for the wastewater treatment and pumping facilities, including facilities planning, design, startup, and construction management. Serves as a key technical resource to lead and support all aspects of maintaining the plant mechanical infrastructure systems at the wastewater treatment and pumping facilities.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINESAny combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledges, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the KSAs would be: Increasingly responsible project management experience including leadership roles and staff supervision experience; Extensive experience in design and construction of major wastewater capital renewal and replacement and improvement projects; Customarily candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in civil, sanitary, or environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a related field. Some positions may require candidates to possess an advanced degree in wastewater treatment engineering/technology, mechanical engineering, energy management, environmental science, process engineering, civil engineering or a related field.CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:Candidates must possess current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon at time of application or possess current registration as a Professional Engineer in another state and obtain registration in the State of Oregon within six months of hire. Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.
