Associate/Full Professor Science of Health Care Delivery The Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions (CHS) Science of Health Care Delivery program is seeking a full-time, 9-month tenure-eligible faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor in the area of health systems. Within the broad area of health systems, we particularly encourage applications from candidates who have research expertise in one or more of the following areas: quality improvement, performance management, health services research, population health, health equity, payment reform, health care delivery innovations, comparative effectiveness, high-value health care, and improving care for complex patients. This position will serve as the main liaison for the Mayo Clinic and Arizona State University Alliance for Health Care (https://mayo.asu.edu/). In particular the position will manage ongoing collaborations between students and faculty at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and the ASU College of Health Solutions’ Science of Health Care Delivery academic programs. These responsibilities will be reflected in a workload distribution of approximately 20% of time for this area of effort. This position will work with faculty across the college to address our Grand Challenges, complex and difficult health problems which require translational research, transformative collaboration and innovation. Through research, academic programs and service, the college is focused on these Grand Challenges: Addressing the systems of health care and the health needs of populations, and optimizing health and human performance of individuals across the lifespan. We are particularly interested in making an impact on populations with significant health disparities. - Evidence of a successful history of obtaining extramural funding to support a research portfolio commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor proportionate with workload effort devoted to research
- Evidence of a sustained history of peer reviewed publications in high-impact journals commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
- Evidence of successful teaching at the university level related to the field of the science of health care delivery commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, students, and staff
Desired Qualifications - Research focus in one of the following areas: quality improvement, performance management, health services research, population health, health equity, payment reform, health care delivery innovations, comparative effectiveness, high-value health care, and improving care for complex patients.
- Evidence of a successful history of obtaining extramural funding from highly competitive sources such as NIH, PCORI, CDC, NSF, HRSA, similar federal mechanisms, and/or foundations (e.g., Robert Wood Johnson Foundation)
- Demonstrated experience teaching and mentoring medical students
- Demonstrated experience teaching and mentoring doctoral students
- Background, knowledge, and/or research in the area of science of health care delivery relevant to the needs of the Arizona's diverse populations and the college's Grand Challenges
- Experience in developing and maintaining community partnerships and inter-professional or team-based collaborations
- Evidence of impact of research
- Experience teaching graduate level courses and mentoring graduate students in research and publishing
- Experience teaching online courses at the University level
- Demonstrated success in promoting student retention and/or graduation
- Evidence of participation in translational, trans-disciplinary, and team science initiatives relevant to CHS research domains
- Evidence of active involvement in university, community, and/or professional service commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor
