Douglas County PUD is hiring a Project Civil Engineer to manage, develop, and maintain the District’s Dam Safety program, which ensures structural safety of our hydro assets and ensures compliance with requirements of FERC. This position will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, consultants, and crafts workers at the Wells Hydroelectric Project and its related facilities and will manage large-scale embankment projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with and coordinate the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) appointed Board of Consulting Engineers who have been tasked with evaluating, and designing dam safety related enhancements to the east and west embankments at Wells Dam.
The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, the ability to work collaboratively with teams, working knowledge of FERC license requirements and filing protocol, excellent technical writing, report writing, and verbal communication skills, and excellent problem solving and time management. We are looking for someone with a Civil Engineering degree and a PE and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in a closely related field.
