The Metro IS Coordinator is an advanced level professional, supervisory position responsible for Metro Transit’s technology initiatives through planning, development, coordination, implementation and operation of diverse automated information systems and services. This position supervises a small staff and serves as Project Manager to ensure all Metro Transit's technology and software infrastructure essential to operations are current, functional, and secure. The Metro IS Coordinator will integrate new technology and software applications in accordance with City technology standards and policies; as well as manage vendor, interagency and peer relationships. The position also involves soliciting, procuring, and directing vendors and consultants that serve Metro Transit technology needs. Under the general supervision of the Metro Transit General Manager, this position exercises independent judgement and leadership in meeting program objectives, while skillfully coordinating across departments such as City of Madison Information Technology, Traffic Engineering, and other divisions.
