This position provides project management oversight, to include supervision of all levels of staff; oversee or review environment, infrastructure, and geomatic projects; and manage implementation of projects/plans according to codes and regulations. Manages the Engineering department, establishes goals, objectives, and priorities; plans and allocates Department resources and manpower, develops department policies and procedures; administers all County capital improvement projects; and performs professional engineering design work.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; supplemented by six (6) years experience and/or training that includes performing professional engineering, project management and supervisory work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Additional license or certification: Registration as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina is required. Management Preference: Three (3) to five (5) years of engineering experience in state or local government setting
