The University of South Florida (USF) Health Morsani College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics, in partnership with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH), seeks applications from outstanding physician-scientists or clinician-investigators, for the position of Associate Professor or Professor. The successful candidate will hold the Walmart & Sam’s Club Endowed Chair in Pediatric Nephrology and oversee and foster an environment of inquiry and collaboration, including building an extramurally-funded research program in pediatric nephrology.

The Division of Nephrology at JHACH provides the full spectrum of nephrology care, including dialysis and renal transplantation, for patients from infancy to young adulthood. The program is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top pediatric nephrology program and is the only such program in Florida to be ranked this year.
The USF Department of Pediatrics was established in 1972 and has trained over 800 pediatric residents and subspecialty fellows. Its mission is to foster an environment for the education of trainees at all levels by providing comprehensive and innovative child health care, and to enhance those endeavors through the pursuit of excellence in scholarly activities. The Department serves as the hub of pediatric-related educational and research activities throughout the Tampa Bay area and has over 90 faculty members and 15 clinical divisions, several of which have practice locations across the West Central Florida region. USF Pediatrics also supports endowed chairs in immunology, behavioral medicine, developmental pediatrics, and neonatology. State-of-the-art wet laboratory space is located at the USF/JHACH Research Institute in St. Petersburg, which is adjacent to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The Walmart & Sam’s Club chair holder is offered laboratory space and support to develop a clinical research infrastructure.
Applicants must have a MD or MD/PhD degree, a record of sustained accomplishments and be board-certified in pediatric nephrology. A proven record of extramural research funding is required. Academic rank, salary and competitive startup packages will be determined commensurate with experience.
