MTC's Design and Project Delivery Section is responsible for the development and delivery of innovative transportation strategies that improves the performance of the region's freeway, bridge, arterial, and transit systems, with an emphasis on operational efficiencies and demand management/high vehicle occupancy strategies.
The Assistant Director, Capital Program Delivery position is responsible for managing, planning and implementing the engineering and project delivery functions of the Design & Project Delivery Section. Specifically, the individual in this position will be tasked with the following:

An appropriate combination of education and experience that has provided the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is:
Education: Completion of a Master's degree in a relevant major from an accredited college or university. (Applicants with a degree issued from an institution outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an academic accrediting service and provide proof of equivalency along with their application.) Alternately, a Bachelor's degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience effectively leading and managing an operational team with an aptitude to providing an overall business operational perspective. Specific experience with transit programs, customer service operations, toll collection operations and systems, budgeting and expense monitoring, and marketing preferable. Experience should also include three (3) years supervising, mentoring, and coaching professional and support staff.
Possession of a professional engineer license is required and a copy must be submitted with your application. Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a safe driving record, or the ability to provide alternate transportation which is approved by the appointing authority.
