Under direction of the Hydroelectric Department Manager, assists with the administration of the District’s Electric and Dam Safety Compliance Programs, functioning as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues, concerns, and requirements within the organization as they relate to dam safety. Primary compliance responsibilities are for regulation from Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and California Department of Water Resources’ Department of Safety Of Dams (CA DWR DSOD). Ensures the District’s Dams and Hydroelectric Systems and its’ employees are supported and in compliance with the laws and regulations of all appropriate regulatory agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Any combination of experience and education that would prepare the candidate for the duties and responsibilities of the position is acceptable. Prior experience working in hydroelectric and dam safety systems, quality assurance and quality control, and compliance assistance is strongly encouraged. Prior experience with continuous management programs or change management programs will be considered.
Bachelor’s engineering degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, regulatory or related field with substantial course work in utility compliance practices, policies and procedures set by governing authorities.
