PRIMARY DUTY: The Capital Programs Engineer provides professional engineering services in support of campus-wide construction, operations, and capital planning. Performs and/or oversees engineering planning, design, and development, and provides leadership, guidance, technical coordination, and review.

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, as well as technical knowledge of architecture/engineering and building construction activities
Certification/License: Valid driver’s license
Experience: Minimum of six years in a mechanical engineering consulting field with supervisory experience
Knowledge & Skills: A broad based knowledge of all phases of commercial building design, construction, and maintenance with a strong background in mechanical equipment and HVAC systems, including energy management system interfaces; must be knowledgeable in: Design and operation of building systems; construction contract document preparation and administration; specification writing and interpretation; construction budgeting and control; quality control; strong communication skills; and a basic understanding of current federal, state, and local rules, regulations, building codes, and labor laws
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will work a typical shift of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break and must be flexible and be able to work when required. This position must purchase and maintain a cellular device and service that will be used for work functions. This position must be responsible for plan choices, calling areas, service features, terminations clauses, and paying for all charges associated with the cellular device and service.
