This position is responsible for providing maintenance and technical services in all areas of Platte River’s substation and transmission line systems. Individuals in this role work in a team environment and deliver daily and highly technical services in a variety of areas, including high voltage equipment testing and repair, relay and controls installation and wiring, transmission line inspection, battery bank maintenance and installation, construction inspection and aerial lift operation.
Individuals also perform basic and general work related to transmission maintenance in accordance with NERC Standard PRC 005 and vegetation management in accordance with NERC Standard FAC 003, as well oversee work performed by third-parties in specialized areas of maintenance.
The position will support specific projects, during new construction and improvements of transmission lines and substations by assisting engineering in ensuring quality control and properer functionality of transmission equipment and controls. This position must engage in perform high quality work under limited supervision.
This position may be subject to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations; this is a non-supervisory position that has no lead role responsibilities.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
This job operates indoors and outside and the employee will operate equipment used in repairs and maintenance and will use related tools. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, energized substation facilities, working from heights, hand tools use, vibration from power tools and moving equipment.
While performing the duties of the job, the employees is required to frequently stand and walk and lift, pull, push and/or move 40 pounds and occasionally lift, pull, push and/or move up to 80 pounds. The employee will be required to occasionally climb and/or reach into small spaces to perform electrical maintenance. The employee must safely use ladders to gain access to work areas and to work from. The following requirements are approximate in requirement and % of time:
This job operates indoors and outside; the individual will be required to operate equipment such as aerial lifts, cranes, large trucks, trailers, pumps, switch levers, crank handles, power tools that include grinders, saws, impact wrenches and drills in addition to all hand tools required to pull, terminate and land wiring.
Hourly pay range for this position: $ 43.46 - 49.68
