Summary: Under limited direction, plans, organizes and directs the activities and personnel related to design and management of City engineering projects, project management and grants administration. Performs complex and technical duties involved in the design and administration of construction of a variety of City facilities and structures including Utilities (water, wastewater, gas, electric) and Public Works.
Distinguishing Characteristics: This is the executive level job class within the Public Works department and reports to the Public Works Director/City Engineer.

The City of Safford offers a competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience. A generous benefits package is offered that includes health insurance, an option of a EPO or a High deductible plan, with the City paying a 90-10 single or a 70-30 family coverage, dental and vision insurance, cell phone provided, and paid vacation and sick leave. A retirement plan is provided through the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) with the current employee contribution and employer matching rate, at 12.22% of salary.
