Transmission Access Policy Study Group (TAPS), an advocacy group that focuses on the interests of transmission-dependent utilities, is seeking a part-time Executive Director. TAPS is a mix of joint action agencies, individual municipal and cooperative systems, private utilities, and some state and regional organizations of municipal systems. Effective performance in this position requires advanced knowledge of the NERC Reliability Standards, FERC policy/regulations, transmission grid systems, and wholesale markets. The successful candidate must be able to facilitate consensus among TAPS members with varying interests and maintain a collaborative atmosphere with members and other stakeholders.
The Executive Director develops, manages, and administers all activities of the Transmission Access Policy Study Group under the guidance and direction of the TAPS Board of Directors. Responsibilities include:
Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field, strong communications skills, public policy/advocacy experience, and prior experience with a member organization preferred. Travel is periodically required.
TAPS expects to enter into an independent contractor agreement with the successful candidate.
