SummaryThe Imaging Group within Early Clinical Development and Experimental Sciences at Regeneron is seeking a scientist with strong background in translational imaging with a focus on central nervous system (CNS) or ophthalmology (OPH) to support the development, translation, implementation and quantitative evaluation of novel imaging biomarkers with emphasis on early phases of clinical development. The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical expertise in the design and implementation of imaging as applied to CNS/OPH and other therapeutic clinical studies. This candidate in this position will play a key role in the analysis of large-scale image datasets to inform clinical development plans across therapeutic areas. This role will work collaboratively with internal research and clinical teams as well as external collaborators and contract research organizations to support the qualification of imaging biomarkers and their application to therapeutic development.Responsibilities• Design and implement imaging measures as endpoints for CNS/OPH therapeutic clinical studies• Design and implement qualification studies for imaging biomarkers• Leverage large imaging datasets to perform proof-of-concept imaging analysis to inform clinical development plans across therapeutic areas. • Supervise image analyses from Regeneron clinical trials and evaluate central lab, CRO, and collaborator performance.• Explore novel ways to analyze clinical imaging data. • Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning in medical image analysis and supervise/support development of algorithms for clinical image analysis.
Minimum Qualifications• PhD or MD/PhD in quantitative field (e.g. biomedical engineering, computer science, physics etc) with 4+ years of experience performing analysis in clinical/translational imaging datasets (MRI, PET, SPECT, OCT). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • In the context of CNS, direct experience in quantitative analysis of PET images is preferred.• Experience in neuroscience or ophthalmology• Strong oral and written communication skillsAdditional Qualifications• Mathematical / statistical proficiency • Programming proficiency (e.g. Matlab/C++)• Working knowledge of imaging computing infrastructure (e.g. PACS)• Experience across multiple therapeutic areas
