Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Lead CAD Designer to join our team in Wichita, KS. Wood is a global, top - ranked ENR design firm looking to grow its Kansas operation and seeks a talented CAD professional to join its team. Wood’s Wichita Office is a multi - discipline engineering / environmental team of 10+ staff, located in one of the most affordable cities in the US.
First and foremost, the candidate must be proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D and possess experience on civil infrastructure design projects to prepare construction drawings for the water / wastewater group. This includes knowledge of surfaces, profiles, and pipe networks. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with engineers on a variety of infrastructure projects, including drainage / flood control and environmental projects.
The candidate will be responsible for all CAD plan production out of the Kansas operation, working with and assigning various tasks to Junior CAD drafters and Engineers as workload increases. The candidate must be able to clearly communicate with other members of the CAD team and provide training as necessary to ensure consistent and quality deliverables.
The candidate will improve means and methods for delivery of its contract documents. This includes developing and improving existing CAD standards, quality control, delivery, presentation and efficient execution for all phases of a project from concept to project closeout.
The selected candidate will lead the multi - disciplined engineering CAD design department providing engineering contract drawings and models for construction. The selected candidate will also be essential in developing efficient administration of the CAD system, files, and standards. The Candidate will assign the work of the department’s drafters.
