The Senior Deputy General Counsel is responsible for the day-to-day representation of Platte River Power Authority (Platte River), reporting to the General Counsel. In addition to routine support for electric utility and water operations, this position will be responsible for managing state and federal regulatory matters and may interface with regulators responsible for environmental and operational regulation of Platte River’s activities.
This individual will support business units across the organization and must be able to address issues as they arise. Important areas of focus include litigation matters, federal and state administrative proceedings, major contract negotiations, organized markets, and water rights. The Senior Deputy General Counsel will be a member of Platte River’s director-level leadership group and will have primary responsibility for overseeing legal matters (including support for senior management and the Platte River board of directors) when the General Counsel is unavailable.
This position has no day-to-day supervisory responsibilities, but is responsible for managing other members of the legal, environmental, and reliability staff when the General Counsel is unavailable; also, as noted above, this position requires active participation on Platte River’s director-level leadership team.
