ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position performs work which involves precise technical knowledge gained through training or experience to a variety of traffic engineering problems in the field or office. Responsibilities include technical duties such as signal timing and coordination; conducting traffic engineering studies; programming computerized traffic signals and controllers; maintaining the network for the central computer system for traffic signals; gathering traffic data and converting it to a usable format; troubleshooting and problem solving central control equipment, intersection signal controllers, auxiliary equipment including the interconnect system; implement new technology for the ATMS; and serving as a liaison between agencies involved in the construction and operation of traffic signals. There are two shifts are Monday through Friday 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 12:00 Noon to 9:00 PM.
