The School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a 3-year, non tenure-track position in Bioengineering at the Assistant Professor of Practice level, August 2020 but may start January 2021.
Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or closely related field prior to the August 2020 start date. Preferred areas of specialization include, but are not limited to Biomechanics, Cell and Tissue Engineering, Medical Devices, or Bioinstrumentation. Review of applications will begin on March 1, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.
The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching at a predominantly undergraduate institution.
Teaching responsibilities will include a variety of undergraduate courses offered in the Bioengineering curriculum, such as biomechanics, tissue engineering, medical device design, physiology, and/or senior design, as well as the opportunity to develop new courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Other duties include: advising undergraduate majors, participation in departmental and university governance, and ongoing professional development. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
