Placer County Water Agency encompasses the entire, 1,500-square-mile boundary of Placer County, ranging from the rim of the Sacramento Valley on the west to the Sierra Nevada and Lake Tahoe on the east. The Agency is headquartered in Auburn and carries out a broad range of responsibilities including water resource planning and management, retail and wholesale supply of irrigation water and drinking water, production of hydroelectric power and watershed stewardship across Placer County. We are seeking talented candidates to join our team for the position of:
PCWA is seeking an engaged individual to join its electrical maintenance team to maintain and repair electronic communications and control equipment associated with the Agency’s multi-purpose hydroelectric facilities. The position will be based out of the Agency’s Power System offices in Foresthill, CA. This position will be tasked with installation, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting duties for systems and equipment related to the Agency’s power system communication systems, including digital microwave radio, VHF radio, power line carrier, digital/analog phone, and LAN/WAN systems and RTUs. The ideal candidate for this position will possess journey level experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic communication and control equipment; experience in hydroelectric facilities is highly desirable.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience: One year of journeyman level experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic communication and control equipment.
Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Electronics Technology is desirable.
Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Possession of a valid FCC general radio telephone operator’s license or certification by an industry approved FCC endorsed program by completion of the probationary period is desirable.
