Oregon State University (OSU) seeks a dynamic and effective leader as Head for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering (CCE). The School Head will work closely with the Dean and the leadership team of the College of Engineering (COE) on an ambitious agenda to address some of the world’s most complex technological challenges in the areas of civil, construction, and architectural engineering. The Head will help CCE identify future areas of growth and investment and will provide organizational and administrative expertise for the College and the University during an exciting era of increased research productivity and greater societal impact. This is a 12-month, full-time position. Salary is commensurate with training, education, and experience.
Required qualifications include: Ph.D. in a field associated with civil, construction, or architectural engineering; successful managerial and leadership experience; significant record of achievement in research, teaching, and service that merits appointment as a tenured full-professor within the school; a demonstrable commitment to educational equity in a multicultural setting; a demonstrable commitment to advancing the participation of diverse and underrepresented groups and supporting diverse perspectives; effective communication skills; a demonstrable understanding of successful practices for mentoring and/or professional development; and experience developing external relations.
