Work as part of the Transportation and Planning Unit to provide traffic engineering expertise and higher-level transportation planning knowledge, utilising the Grand Cayman’s Traffic Demand and Traffic Operational Models to enhance the development, maintenance and quality of the road network of the National Roads Plan (NRP).
Assist in the production of medium to long term corridor plans for road development; monitor the impact of land development, vehicle imports and traffic growth on the current and future capacity of the Cayman Islands’ road network; and evaluate congestion areas and produce mitigation solutions for improving traffic mobility.
The job holder contributes to the administration of the NRA by providing professional expertise and advice to help meet the NRA’s goals of congestion management, and development of a sustainable road network for the future growth of the island’s economic development. The position contributes to the financial plan, related budgets and financial forecasts for FY 2020 and beyond. The job holder contributes to the overall management of an annual recurrent budget of CI $10M and an annual capital budget of CI $8+ M.
