This is a research job involving professional and technical work in the study of producing fuels and chemicals from biomass utilizing thermochemical platform. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist center director; supervise bioenergy and biofuels activities of the center; operate fluidized bed gasifier and reactors housed in the center; summarize data and publish findings from research; assist in writing proposals for further extramural funding; prepare technical reports, manuscripts for publication and various presentations; and perform various other duties as assigned by the director.
Desired qualifications include: previous experience in biomass gasification and syngas clean-up, gas to liquid synthesis, and catalysis; demonstrated record of securing extramural funding for research programs; demonstrated a strong commitment and potential to excel in research in the area of chemical engineering, industry experience in biofuel and petroleum industries.
