A position is available for a full time project manager to oversee exciting multi-institution small molecule analysis projects involving the Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry Facility. Responsibilities will include oversight of collaborations and fee for service projects, including; targeted and untargeted metabolite profiling, development of quantitative methods, small molecule structure elucidation as well as metabolite extraction, and separations. Other duties include tracking customer fees, creating project cost estimates, troubleshooting instrumentation, routine maintenance, training and managing junior staff and facility users, and basic chemical/biochemical laboratory tasks. The Project Manager will work to ensure an accurate, timely, efficient, and transparent process for the sponsored, contracted, and for fee projects.
The Project Manager will coordinate the on-boarding, planning, and timely completion of projects for multiple customers, both hands-on and overseeing staff. The candidate should have experience working with academic/government entities. The candidate will be expected to work with a scientific team to develop project reports that are submitted on-schedule. The candidate will be responsible for handling instrumentation troubleshooting, including intermediate repairs and retooling as necessary. Flexibility in work schedule will be required to meet deadlines.
